New small-scale WooCommerce user from Indiana

Hi folks, I'm getting started with a small 1-person shop with limited income. I'm wondering if WooCommerce was the best choice because I'm finding even basic features you'd expect to be built-in cost extra. For example: quantity discounts require a plug-in that costs $43 PER YEAR. That's a significant chunk of my profits for this one item. Is there something better than WooCommerce for features like this?
